November 2025
Dear customer,
Greetings from Spring Mountain! This is our annual wine offer and features our anticipated 2023 as well as our ten-year old 2015 and twenty-year old 2005.
Twenty-twenty three was a year with ideal growing conditions where mild temperatures made for a period of extended ripening, with harvest not beginning until October 2nd. This is a wine that will benefit from aging. Antonio Galloni of Vinous has written “the 2023 [Philip Togni Vineyard] Cabernet Sauvignon is outrageously beautiful. Graphite, lavender, crushed rocks, menthol and dark spice emerge with great reluctance… It’s a vivid, explosive Cabernet that will need at least a few years to be at its most expressive… Captivating.” (98 points, November, 2025)
Our ten-year re-release is the 2015 Philip Togni Cabernet, a wine just now entering into a period of very good drinking. Galloni tasted this wine here as recently as October and has written, “The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon is positively ravishing today… The strong ivory profile, dark-toned fruit and incisive mountain tannins are classic Togni. Still quite youthful, like Philip Togni himself, the 2015 promises to drink well for another 15-20 years. It’s a magnificent, towering wine in every way.” (98 points, NovembÄ™r 2025)
We are also offering our 2005. This twenty-year old wine is drinking beautifully now. Galloni has written, “Savory herbs, plums, graphite, rorse petal, lavender and sage all open up in an exotic, beguiling Cabernet that exudes personality.” (95 points, October 2015)
For those of you new to our wines, our ten-acre vineyard is at 2000 feet elevation on Spring Mountain on the west side of the Napa Valley. We farm our vineyard ourselves organically, without irrigation, and produce two wines, the Philip Togni Vineyard Cabernet, a long-lived blend of Cabernet Sauvignon along with Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, and the Tanbark Hill Vineyard Cabernet, a more approachable wine made from two blocks of our Cabernet vines. We began planting our vineyard in 1981 with our first wines being made in 1983.
Best regards,

Lisa, Birgitta and Philip Togni
